On Thursday 26th April people gathered from communities and churches across West Wiltshire for our Wiltshire Youth for Christ Partners’ Evening.

The night included new films about our work, interviews with young people and youth workers. Jenny Rossiter talked about the work of Counties and specifically the GSUS Live project, which will be coming to schools in the area later in 2018. We heard a really encouraging report from Fergus Stewart, Head Teacher at St. Laurence School in Bradford on Avon. He told us about the impact of Wiltshire Youth for Christ in the school, which was such an encouragement. Lauren Fox, Youth for Christ Local Ministries Director talked about Christ bringing hope into the chaos of the lives of young people. The evening finished with our Youth Work Awards and it was fantastic to be able to recognise the commitment of local volunteers and young people. The final award was ‘The Jeremy Steeds Award for Overcoming’ which was presented to Jess Evans a young person from Melksham who has and continues to overcome incredible challenges to care for her family and complete her education.
We are very thankful to North Bradley Baptist Church for hosting the evening and to all those who joined us on the night. Those we spoke to went away having had a really encouraging evening, knowing more about what God is doing among young people and with a free Wiltshire Youth for Christ bag!
